     Connecticut Water Well  Association

J2 Apprenticeship Program

The Connecticut Water Well Association has developed a training program for J2 apprentices.

Our Education committee has worked with our National Trade organizations, Manufacturers and the State of Connecticut Department of Labor to develop this program.

This program is in its beginning stages. We will be making many changes as we work our way thru the first year. We will be adding additional courses once they are developed.

We will be using the associations website www.ctwwa.org to facilitate this education program. Apprentices will have to sign up as apprenticeship members. Once inside the Apprentice training site there will be links for a variety of online trainings. In person trainings will be scheduled quarterly. Some of the online and in person trainings will have a fee associated to them.

Apprentices will be required to attend one association CEU training per year. We would also ask apprentices to attend monthly meetings held on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Dates and locations are posted on our website.

An OSHA 30 Construction course is required to complete this training. There are many online and in person options available. The CT Water Well Association does not recommend one training provider over another. The completion certificate will need to be submitted with the other certificates.

Certificates will be given once a course is completed. It is the responsibility of the apprentice to keep these certificates in a safe place. Once all courses are completed the certificates will be submitted to the education committee for review. Once reviewed a J2 Apprenticeship Training Completion certificate will be given to the apprentice.

Please be patient with us as we work our way thru the 1st 2 year training cycle. We are certain that there will be some bumps in the road. We will work thru them as quickly as possible.

You will find the 1st year curriculum on our website. We will be adding more courses as they are developed.

At the end of the 2 year training cycle we will provide a completion certificate.

Things that you need to know:

-Some courses have a fee associated to them most do not

-Most courses can be completed at your own pace

-Completion certificates will be given at the completion of each course. You will need to upload them to our portal (you should keep a package in case there is a discrepancy)

-Courses will be added as the program moves forward

-We will be holding in person classes and online classes during the year (fees may apply) Check the website for updates on these classes

-You will still need to register as an apprentice with the State of Connecticut Department of Labor. We do not have any control over this process.
